If you wish to sell your products in the Amazon marketplace for Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Christmas, you must have them shipped to their warehouses on or before their deadlines. For this year’s Amazon holiday shipping schedule, you will find due dates for each holiday so you can ensure that your goods arrive on time and are on stock for customers during this peak season.
Amazon Holiday Shipping Schedule
- November 04 – Possible cut-off date for FBA inventory for Black Friday and Cyber Monday
- December 04 – Possible cut-off date for FBA inventory for Christmas shopping
- December 16 – Inventory for 2020 should be sent to Amazon fulfillment centers no earlier than December 16, 2019. Until then, please only ship items to Amazon that will sell on 2019.
Do not start shipping your inventory to Amazon until December 16 for two reasons:
- Amazon expects to run out of warehouse space
- You will be charged for higher storage fees for unsold items in December
Note: Date recommendations and estimates for the 2019 Amazon holiday shipping schedule are subject to change.
Amazon’s Most Celebrated Holidays in Q4:
November 28
Thanksgiving, an annual national holiday in the U.S celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. In 2018, Amazon shoppers ordered over 180 million items over the five days starting with Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday.
November 29
Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year because it kicks off the holiday season. In 2018, Amazon said Cyber Monday and Black Friday were the biggest shopping days in its history.
December 2
Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving and one of the most profitable days of the year for online retailers, including Amazon sellers. In 2018, Amazon reported that Cyber Monday was its biggest single shopping day ever.
“Black Friday and Cyber Monday continue to break records on Amazon year over year, which tells us that customers love shopping for deals to kick off the holiday shopping season,” said Jeff Wilke, CEO Worldwide Consumer, in the Amazon statement.
December 9
Green Monday, a popular internet shopping day that falls on the second Monday of December and is dubbed as the biggest online shopping day of the month. It also marks the last chance for online shoppers to order items without having to pay expedited shipping.
December 16
Hanukkah, the most celebrated eight-day Jewish holiday in the US. It has become a huge commercial holiday for many online retailers as it falls on the year’s hottest buying season. Families gather, party and exchange gifts just like on Christmas.
December 22
Super Saturday or Panic Saturday is the last Saturday before Christmas, which usually marks the end of the shopping season. This is the best time to offer one-day sales to lure last-minute shoppers and boost revenue. Stats revealed that last minute shoppers make up nearly 30% of online holiday sales.
December 24
Christmas Eve. At this time, most orders are already received. Don’t expect a boost in sales but be ready to provide exceptional customer support. You don’t want customers getting mad because nobody is responding to their comments.
December 25
Christmas Day. Shoppers are on the lookout for good offers and bargains. Mobile shopping accounts for majority of online spending on Christmas Day.
Other Key Dates to Remember:
- October 5 – World Teachers’ Day
- October 27 – Diwali
- October 31 – Halloween
- November 11 – Veterans Day
- November 30 – Small Business Saturday
- December 14 – Free Shipping Day
